ITANAGAR, Mar 26:The Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industries has welcomed the North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS), 2017 with a financial outlay of Rs 3,000 crore approved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently.

Terming it a laudable decision, ACCI President Techi Lala, GS Tarh Nachung and chief adviser Pradeep Kumar said that it would have multi-pronged far reaching impact to herald a new era of socio-economic development in this region.

The decision would give a new thrust to set up large scale industries that would create opportunities to generate employment, promote trade and commerce and facilitate backward and forward market linkage for huge agriculture-horticulture products and immensely contribute to the growth of the region’s dismal economy, they said.

Moreover, opening up of historic Ledo to Kunming in China Stilwell Road through Jairampur via Pangsau Pass in Myanmar would open the window to promote trade and commerce with South East Asian nations where the world’s 50% rich live, they added with conviction.
