ITANAGAR, Oct 27: The First Lady of Arunachal Pradesh Neelam Misra joined the valedictory function of 4th annual college day celebration of Binni Yanga Government Women’s College, Lekhi in its campus today.
Speaking on the occasion, Neelam Mishra exhorted the students to cultivate lofty goals and excel in life. She advised them to have wider vision and work for and promote social welfare activities in addition to excelling in their studies.
She lauded the need for women to be educated. She stressed on the virtues of educated women, as they are the ones who educate the progenies of the state and nation and only the women have the DNA of caring and sharing.
Recalling the contributions of Padmashree late Binni Yanga, towards women education, she called upon the students to emulate late Yanga and contribute positively towards wellbeing of all.
While expressing her concerns about women literacy in the state, the First Lady called upon students to ensure that every girl child must be sent to school.
Earlier, Dr. Aruna Gyati Lod, Principal, Binni Yanga Government Women’s College, Lekhi highlighted the challenges and achievements of the only government women’s college of Arunachal Pradesh.
Later, the First Lady presented prizes to the winners of various events organised during the session.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students of the college.
