ITANAGAR, 22 JUN Meghalaya Veteran Table Tennis Association under the aegis of Meghalaya Table Tennis Association is going to organize a first ever ‘North East Veteran Table Tennis Tournament’ from August 9 to 11 next in Shillong, Meghalaya.
The proposed categories include Men 40+, 50+, and 60+ (depending upon number of participants). There will be team championship, open singles, doubles for every age categories.
Responding to the participation call by the said organizers, the Table Tennis Arunachal (TTA) is also gearing up for sending players from the State.
“We appreciate the Meghalaya Veteran Table Tennis Association for coming up with the idea of organizing a tournament of such big level. Although, it would have been more appreciated had it included women category too in the tourney,” said one of the vice presidents of TTA, Karpu Chisi.
“The preparation is on for sending a team of State’s players to participate in the championship. We hope that some laurels will be brought home by the players this time by the high spirited veteran players,” said Passang Dingla, honorary secretary general of TTA.
