ITANAGAR, Jun 16: Member, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Rosy Taba conducted an online meeting hosted by the Women and Child Development Department on Tuesday.
Taking stock of the work being done by various stakeholders under the Child Protection Services (CPS) Scheme of the Women and Child Development Department, she advised the stakeholders viz. State Child Protection Society (SCPS), District Child Protection Units (DCPUs), Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs), Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and ChildLine to be proactive during the pandemic and reach out to all the children in need of care and protection by all means.
The above stakeholders presented their reports on the work done by them during the pandemic which contained the inspections done by the District Child Protection Units (DCPUs) and CWCs, counselling of children, awareness on dos and don’ts of Covid-19, availability of masks, sanitizers, hand wash etc in the CCIs, outreach programmes conducted by the Childline team, sharing of contact details of the DCPUs with local police stations for quick response etc.
The meeting was attended by Director, Women and Child Development Department T.P.Loyi, Nodal Officer, Child Protection Services (CPS) Scheme Kago Asha Lod along with the team of State Child Protection Society, all District Child Protection Officers, Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs), Child Welfare Committees (CWCs), Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and ChildLine- Itanagar, Roing and Namsai.
