Itanagar, Dec 14: 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion National Cadet Corps (NCC) under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarter Tezpur is conducting a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC - 134) from December 13 to 22, for NCC cadets at Himalayan University campus, Itanagar.
The Camp Commandant Col Samudra Vijay Sarma welcomed the cadets to the camp and instructed them to give their best effort so that they benefit from the training being planned for them. He emphasized on the importance of discipline and encouraged them to excel in all training aspects.
The aim of the camp is to instill the spirit of camaraderie and nationalism among the NCC cadets. A strength of 272 enthusiastic volunteer NCC cadets from various institutes of Arunachal Pradesh are participating in the camp. Three Associate NCC Officers, twelve Army instructors and nine civil staff are actively involved in imparting training to them. 1 Arunachal Pradesh Battalion and its cadets continue their training commitment even as the NCC Academy at Balijan is under construction. Once the NCC Academy is fully established, training schedules and facilities will become more streamlined, enabling an enhanced and more efficient training experience. The cadets are undergoing training with elan despite challenges displaying their indomitable spirit, enthusiasm, zeal and energy. The training regime planned for them includes activities such as physical training, drill, yoga, battle craft, firing, games and cultural activities.
The Commanding Officer encouraged the young NCC cadets to be actively involved in all the activities planned for them. He instructed the cadets to display high standards of discipline, morale conduct and camaraderie. He also advised them to improve their verbal communication skills by practicing in presence of each other whenever they get free time as verbal skills are one of the most important traits of any leader. Interacting with peers from different institutes also presents them with an opportunity to exercise socializing skills. He informed the cadets, that apart from military training and small arms firing, there will be lectures for motivating the cadets by eminent speakers from various fields.
