Chimpu, Nov 23: Minister, YA & Sports etc Mama Natung today made a courtesy visit to the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing & Visually Impaired and interacted with the faculty and students.
Natung lauded the dedication of the teachers in bringing the differently abled students to the mainstream through various educational activities, training and rehabilitation measures and also recalled the noble initiative of the school’s founder chairman, Gegong Apang, the former CM of the state who established it way back in 1990. Principal H Sharma informed that the school has been organizing Siang Cup Soccer Festival in Oyan, Pasight for the last two years and this time also it is scheduled to be held from December 10-14 for school girls under 14 and 17 years of age.
Mentioning the relevance of ‘Fit India Movement’, the Minister urged the school authority to include a 30-minute physical activity slot on daily basis in the curriculum and assured them all possible help for construction of an open gymnasium for students and faculty inside the school campus.
