ITANAGAR, Jan 25: Along with the rest of the nation, National Tourism Day (NTD) was observed by the department of Tourism in collaboration with various tour and Travel agencies here today at Thupten Gazelleng Gonpa.
To mark the day, exhibition of local handicrafts, social service and cultural event were also organized. Students from Donyi Polo Hearing and visually impaired school along with Polytechnic College,Itanagar also participated in the various event .
Addressing the gathering, Secretary Tourism, Sadhna Deori briefed about the National Tourism Day. She further opined that everybody cannot avail government job but everyone can be ambassador of Tourism and Tourism has huge potential in the state. One can opt Tourism as their subject and became a successful entrepreneur and encourage the students, department has introduced various project and schemes, she added.
‘Instead of creating big structures we should maintain the natural beauty of our state to boost tourism ‘said Director Tourism Kanto Dangen. He also appealed the people to maintain cleanliness in all the tourist places of our state as well as to endorse hospitality nature.
