Ziro, Sep 28: The 3rd National Sports Championship which is organised by National Sports and Physical Fitness Board (NSPFB) registered under Ministry of MSME, GoI was inaugurated today here at the Sports Training and Research Centre by Minister, Agriculture, Horticulture etc Er.Tage Taki.
“Winning requires a combination of physical as well as mental strength,” the Minister said while exhorting the participants to practice meditation and yoga besides physical training and also urged them to maintain sportsmanship. Chief Patron of the championship, Deputy Commissioner, Lower Subansiri district, Chukhu Takar said that it will act as a platform for all upcoming sports persons to display their talents. President NSPFB and Former Minister Padi Richo who is also the Vice President, Indian Olympic Association while welcoming the participants from the 13 states exhorted them to be competitive as well as create bonds that would foster brotherhood even after their departure from Ziro. General Secretary NSPFB Dr.Sandeep Bhall assured to organise such sporting events regularly in Arunachal Pradesh. As a part of the inauguration, Taekwondo players and amateur boxers displayed their games.
The two-day championship will consist of various events such as athletics, indoor and outdoor games spread across different venues. DIPRO.
