ITANAGAR, Dec 17: In what could be described as a rare achievement, during the recent commendation ceremony of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) held on December 15 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, Advocate Gulley Sumnyan, Legal Aid Counsel of Tirap was awarded the Best Zonal Panel Lawyer of North East Zone in recognition of valuable service rendered as Panel Lawyer of the legal services authority.

The achievement is more important as the winner has to compete with other north eastern participants in his field of activities. The Legal service authorities have won so far two titles, the other being the Best DLSA among the NE States in 2016.

It may be recalled that the National Legal Services over the Years have been organising a national meet for the Para Legal Volunteers wherein the activities of the legal services authorities are discussed at a national level and the achievers are felicitated. The Annual programme was attended by in-service and retired judges of Supreme Court and High Court among others.

Arunachal Pradesh delegation was headed by Budi Habung, Member Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority.
