NAMSAI, Jul 8:  Village health, sanitation and nutrition day (Poshan Abhiyan) was  observed at Simulbari and Deobeel villages  of Namsai district today .

Poshan Abhiyan is a part of extended Gram Swaraj Abhiyan launched by the Government of India  to extend and ensure benefit to reach to the target group.

Attending the programme, Divisional Commissioner (East), Gamli Padu, opined that the main vision of  Poshan Abhiyan is  to reduce under-nutrition , anaemia etc which is generally found among  young children, women and adolescent girls of backward areas.

He advised CDPOs and AWW  to  complete Aadhaar seeding and to seek help from the District Administration for better result.

Speaking on the occasion, Director, Women and Child Development,  T Pertin requested the gathering to avail maximum benefit from the important scheme and requested the departmental officials to discharge their duties with complete sincerity.
