NAMSAI, Sep 24: The District Steering Committee for Aspirational Block Program 'Chintan Shivir' was organised today at Chongkham under the theme “Aspire to Inspire”. This comes close at the heels of the review meeting on ‘Aspirational District Programme’ and ‘Aspirational Block program’ held on September 23 last under the chairmanship of Secretary Planning & Investment, R K Sharma.
The shivir was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Namsai, C.R Khampa in presence of ZPC Chongkham Chow Jenia Namchoom and all the PRI members of Chongkham CD Block and government officials.
The Aspirational Block Programme is monitored by Niti Aayog. The objective of the program is to make Block Development Strategies (BDS) finding the critical gaps and outline the priorities across 9 sectors, 5 themes and 39 key performance Indicators . The 9 sectors are Health, Nutrition, Agriculture, Education, Drinking water & Sanitation, livelihood, Financial Services, Information & technology and Rural Development.
During the meet, the idea of Aspirational Block Program (ABP) was explained to all the stakeholders and deliberations on all the 39 Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) were held to contrive the Block Development Strategy. Which was followed by an interactive session wherein the themes and sector specific block development plans were explored comprehensively by conducting SWOT & Gap analysis with a focus to put forth practical key interventions. During the discussion, emphasis was given on the concept of Jan Bhagidari and the house fixated on achieving saturation of all KPIs by making it a ‘Jan Andolan'.  The chairman urged the departments not to work in silos and encouraged convergence amongst the stakeholders wherever feasible in order to achieve all the targeted KPIs.
