Itanagar, Oct 26: The 3rd edition of MTB Challenge Tawang 2019-20 Cycling Competition which will also coincide with Tawang Festival 2019 was formally flagged off today by MLA Mutchu Mithi, who is also the President of Arunachal Cycling Association here from the State Guest House Complex.
All together 60 members including MTB riders, technical officials, paramedics, support & back-up team and marshals are participating in the event which will witness competition amongst many senior national level MTB position holders.Ahondo Menjo (Arunachal Pradesh), 3rd position holder in MTB Himalaya Asian Category,Devendar Thakur (Himachal Pradesh) and 3rd position holder in 24th MTB World Champions, Leh, Ashim Sharma (Sikkim), 5th rank holder in Open National MTB competition Pune, Innus Ali (Assam) winner of 2nd Edition MTB Tawang Challenge, Nelson Hoober (Bengaluru), Maninder Singh (Hyderabad) along with other promising riders from various parts of the state and Indian Army are in fray. With three categories of Open Men, Men Open and Junior Men Open, the competition will be having 6 stages and cover around 500 kms and culminate at Tawang on October 31 via, Sagalee, Seppa, Rupa, Bomdila, Dirang, Sela Top and Jang. The total cash prizes will be Rs. 1,55,000.
