ITANAGAR, Oct 26: The Muskan Women Foundation (MWF) on Friday officially announced the launch of eighth Mrs. Arunachal Pageant 2018 and district wise auditions from December onwards.
"Any married woman, divorcee or widow from the state can contest in any of the two age categories namely 'general' 'Mrs. Arunachal 2018’, 18 to 40 years, ‘Classic Mrs. Arunachal -2018’, above 40 years ”, informed MWF chairperson, Ngurang Anung while interacting with press persons here at the press club.
She continued that to partake the contestant should be a bonafide citizen of Arunachal and selection will be held in various parts of the state from December.
" The winner will be given a direct entry as contestant for the crown of Mrs. India 2018 and Classic Mrs. India scheduled to be held somewhere in the month of July 2019," she informed.
Following the complaints from viewers during last year’s competition that marking criteria were unfair, she said that they have slightly modified the ratio from the previous to 50:50 and informed that the criteria will strictly be followed.
GS, Tadar Rima Jomoh said that the pageant aims to give married women in the state a chance to showcase their hidden talents.
She also said they are conducting this year’s edition early so as to gather enough time to prepare and groom the winner for the national pageant competition.
The pageant this year will be held under the theme “beauty with brains, yes I can!”. The crown will be sponsored by former chief minister Nabam Tuki and will be on rotation basis.
