PASIGHAT, Apr 13:

Local MLA Kaling Moyong accompanied by DC East Siang, Tamiyo Tatak,
today inspected the progress of the much awaited Civil Terminal
building, the completion of which will facilitate operation of
commercial and passenger flights from the Pasighat ALG, fulfilling the
long pending demand of the people of East Siang in particular and
adjoining districts including neighbouring Assam.


Later, the MLA inspected the ongoing construction of bridge over
Poglek river near Yagrung on Pasighat–Ledum-Tene Road, funded under
NLCPR. Terming the Poglek bridge project, as vital lifeline for smooth
connectivity benefitting the people of the various villages under
Bosing I and Bosing 2 including Mirem, Bilat, Ledum and Koyu-Korang,
he instructed the contractor and executing agency PWD for ensuring
quality of the works and to expedite the work for timely completion.
Moyong further instructed to engage additional manpower and
machineries for completion of foundation works before arrival of
Monsoon. This vital project will be regularly monitored, the MLA
added.

In the meeting, DC Tatak also appealed the people of the area and
general public at large, for their wholehearted cooperation for such
public interest infrastructure project. Roads and Bridges are public
assets, he added. To address the problem of silting, he asked to form
a technical committee with members from WRD, AMDO and PWD and also
Local Committee headed by CO Yagrung and PRI members for monitoring
the progress.  He also asked to stop deforestation activities of the
nearby areas and hills, as it being one of the main factors for the
erosion and silt deposition in the low lying areas.

Known as Poglek Korong (stream), the Poglek river is unpredictable and
is the sorrow of the Bosing area and during monsoon spate, totally
breaks down road communication, causing untold misery to the people
travelling through the route. The target date of completion for the
project is June 2019, which began on January 2017. The NLCPR funded
project covers construction of RCC bridges over River Poglek and Tolon
River.
