AALO, Oct 1: In its continuing effort to root out drug menace and seek societal opinions to intensify the movement against drug trafficking through various routes, a mass meeting was organised by the Mothers’ Vision at Gumin Kiin on Saturday.
The Chairperson and Secretary, Mothers’ Vision, Jumde Yomgam Gamlin and Kenbi Jini Bagra said that the NGO has been crusading for the last five years to control growing drug menace in the district and stressed on active role of district administration, police and civil society to save the new generation from this evil. The NGO sought the public opinion on many issues that may come handy to check the flow of drug. Former ZPM Higam Loyi Ango stressed on active participation of men folk in such meetings to give their useful suggestions to make the movement a more vigorous one.
Kennedy Bagra, who is spearheading the campaign against drugs, as resource person dwelt at length on the use of drug, progression of addiction in society, prevention, rehabilitation, etc. through power point presentation. Many speakers who attended the meeting also forwarded their useful suggestions and assured all possible assistance.
