PASIGHAT, Sep 28: Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Prahlad Singh Patel today attended the Jan Sampark Rally / National Unity Campaign here at CHF Auditorum in the presence of local MLA, Kaling Moyong, MLA Kento Jini and others.
Addresing the large gathering, the Union MoS said that the objective to conduct the National Unity Campaign is to spread awareness among the people on the need for One-Nation-One Constitution with particular reference on abrogation on Article 370 in J & K. He emphasized that one Constitution will bind the nation together adding that Aticle 370 was a temporary provision. During the Outreach Campaign, the MoS further informed that central government is deeply committed to the socio-economic development of Arunachal Pradesh and Northeastern States, adding that the cultural, property rights and other privileges enjoyed by the indigenous people of Arunachal and other Special Category States of NE will be protected by GoI.
He highlighted that scrapping of 370 will now provide of voting rights for all Indian citizens in J& K, empower panchayati raj institution, provide reservation in employment for various deprived communities thus creating job opportunities for all sections of society. Calling for promoting the spirit of One Nation-One Constitution, the MoS also paid tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Earlier, MLA Kento Jini, who is a noted advocate explained in detail that all the special provisons viz. religious, social, customary and land laws of the tribal population and the other special rights under Article 370 H specific to Arunachal Pradesh and other provisions under 370 for tribal populations of India will be protected. He also spoke on the special provisions under Bengal Regulation Act 1873.
Local MLA and District Convenor, Jan Jagran, Kaling Moyong said that central government is fast-tracking all round developmental efforts in the state. The meeting was also attended by the BJP party workers. DIPRO
