Khonsa, Aug 30: The District Disaster Management Authority, under the aegis of Deputy Commissioner Tirap, organized a ‘Disaster Awareness Programme and Mock Exercise on Earthquake and Fire Accident’ here at the General Hospital today.
The mock drill was conducted under the supervision of DDMO Khonsa P Duggong which was participated by the all the staff of the hospital under the leadership of DMO Dr. K Mosang, Hospital Superintendent Dr. K Socia, police and fire service personnel. Earlier on the day, a similar programme was conducted in the Divisional Office of PWD Khonsa, on the occasion. DDMO stated that such awareness programmes and drills shall be carried out in all major government establishments of the district including DC,ADC,CCF offices and also in schools.
SP Khonsa K Riba while participating in the exercise appreciated the teams for their performance and advised them to make such drill exercises at regular intervals with all precautionary measures to avoid any mishap in the process.
