SEPPA, Nov 11: MLA Seppa Tapuk Taku attended the inaugural day of the 10th Annual college day celebration of Government Model College, Seppa at Wessang here on Monday.
Attending the opening day as chief guest, Taku said ‘ education is no doubt a very important aspect of our life but co curricular activities also matters. It is through such activity a student develops their inner talents such as creativity, public speaking skills, leadership quality and many more.'
"Annual day celebration is a medium to improve the learning experience of students as it provides interaction, exchange of ideas, culture and integrity among the students," Taku said.
He requested the students to concentrate on studies and such co curricular activities rather than wasting time and hard earned money of their parents on drugs, alcohol etc.
He also requested the students to discourage and voice against land compensation in any development work and asked to make the best positive use of RTI.
He also assured to work out every possibility to construct a multipurpose auditorium for the college as demanded by the students in the memorandum submitted.
Chairman,East Kameng Social Welfare and Culture Organization (EKSWCO) Dahey Sangno while addressing the students informed that the organization is delivering all efforts for the greater interest of education sector. Under the EKSWCO, it was possible to revive the Eklavya school at Bana.
Eco park, District culture museum, recreational park sanctioned for the district under the guidance of team East Kameng is a dream project for the welfare of our people, he added.
Highlighting the dark side of early marriage, Sangno requested the students, especially the girls to fight against it. He asked the students to use the social media platform cautiously for constructive ideas.
Also speaking on the day, Principal GMC, Seppa Robin Hissang said that the distance education mode initiated in the college was a positive move which saw many graduating in the past.
Imparting education to the students, academic performance is our priority, he said while informing that the college has started career council cell.
