ITANAAGR, Mar 31:Parliamentary Secretary UD etc cum local MLA, Techi Kaso on Saturday took stock of the mass destruction caused by thunderstorm on last Thursday. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan and others.

While on his visit to the Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic Institute (RGGPI) in the morning, Principal AK Tripathy apprised him about the damages caused to the institute’s infrastructure and problems being faced by the students owing to the roof being blown away in both boys and girls hostels,.

Stating that government is with them in this hour of crisis, Kaso requested the DC to take up the matter of repairing and maintenance of the hostels immediately.

Kaso along with ZPM Itanagar Techi Mecha, ASM Chimpu-Datt Bamang Aman, social workers Taro Tagia also visited several churches and community halls and government property in the township which suffered heavy damages and provided relief in the form of cash and kind to the affected people.

Later inspecting the vending zone located at Ganga Market, Kaso assured to carry out road restoration work at the earliest.
