Roing, Jun 1: Dambuk MLA Gum Tayeng, accompanied by Lower Dibang Valley DC Mitali Namchoom, Parbuk SDO Eving Yirang and DDMO Tsering Ngurup visited the Shantipur check gate on Monday to inspect the procedures followed and review the arrangements in place for the returnees into the district.
Tayeng inspected the facilities for sanitisation of vehicles, screening of returnees and their quarantining and interacted with the government staff manning the screening centres in shifts. The team also visited the quarantine centres here at the JNV housing female returnees and at IPS, Roing housing male returnees. The JNV quarantine centre currently has 71 inmates and the IPS centre 56. Persons returning from green zones are being kept separate from the red and orange zone returnees.
While interacting with the inmates, she sought feedback about their health, facilities provided and problems, if any, faced by them. The inmates expressed satisfaction over the facilities and said the authorities are trying their best under the current circumstances.
The team also observed the sample collection process underway at the JNV quarantine centre. DIPRO
