PASIGHAT, Jul 23: To take stock of the present power supply problems and status of the Comprehensive Scheme in East Siang district, DC Dr. Kinny Singh today chaired a coordination meeting.
Local MLA, Kaling Moyong who attended the meeting was apprised of the progress of restoration works of the collapsed transmission tower at Babuk Village and the alternative arrangement being put in place to restore power and the overall power scenario of Pasighat and the district. Moyong asked the Power Department to set up dedicated transformers for the high masts in different locations of the Pasighat township. Taking note of the stage of progress to start commissioning of 132/11 kv sub-stations at Napit and Niglok and 33/11 Sub-stations at Napit, Ngopok and Oyan being implemented by PGDCIL under the Comprehensive Scheme, he stressed on their completion within this year.
DC while taking stock of the progress made in restoration of power supply stressed on all-out efforts to meet the power requirements of Pasighat and district as a whole and asked officials to expedite works on these Sub-stations. The power requirements of Pasighat with its advent as a Smart City will manifold, she added and said that she as the Chairperson of District level Steering Committee will monitor and seek progress report from PGDCIL. She also directed to complete the remaining reassessment of compensation through proper coordination with District Administration and Line Departments.
DGM, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Pasighat B.C. Taye, said that progress is in advanced stage on Niglok and Napit 132 KV Substations. While under 33 KV there is 95% progress in Napit Sub-Station, it is 75% in Ngopok and 65% in Oyan. SE (Transmission) Itanagar and SE Pasighat Electrical Circle apprised that restoration of the collapsed tower is likely to take about three weeks and alternative arrangement will be almost completed by July 24.
