PASIGHAT, Jun 24: Pasighat East MLA Kaling Moyong and East Siang DC Dr. Kinny Singh on Wednesday distributed free rice to the migrant workers as a part of the Covid-19 welfare measures initiated under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan Scheme.
Moyong while stating that the Central government scheme would go a long way in mitigating the hardships of the migrant workers, also thanked the District Administration, CBOs, NGOs and all frontline workers of the district working hard to fight the pandemic. DC said that the welfare scheme will give some amount of food security to the migrant workers at this critical juncture. ADC Hq Taddo Borang, District Food & Civil Supplies Officer, officials of Food and Civil Supplies department, SDO Sadar Oli Perme, DDMO Genden Tsomu and senior party leaders were also present during the distribution programme.
As a part of the scheme, free ration items of 5 kg each per person are being provided to the migrant workers for two months who do not possess ration cards and are not covered under the National Food Security Act. DIPRO
