ITANAGAR, Mar 27:The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women-cum-protection of Child Rights (APSCW-cum-APSCPCR), Itanagar vehemently condemned the rape of a minor girl at Yingkiong, Upper Siang District by four alleged accused. In a telephonic conversation with one of the activists of Yingkiong, it was confirm that the four persons have allegedly raped the minor girl at Yingkiong. Two culprits have been arrested by the police while two are absconding.

Expressing solidarity with the victim and the family, the Commission expressed its deep sadness and anguish on the occurrence of such incident. The APSCW Member Secretary requested the family and society to cooperate with District Administration and the police, so that justice may deliver to the victim and her family.

The office of APSCW-cum-APSCPCR requested the Superintendent of Police, Yingkiong to nab the culprits under the POCSO Act, 2012 and provide exemplary punishment. The Commission further requested the concern authority to expedite the case charge sheet against those culprits citing that ‘it has been observed that most of these heinous crimes take place due to delay in submission of charge sheets for speedy trial of the case to the competent authority.’
