PASIGHAT, Mar 14: Police arrested a rape accused Sunny Jerang, 34, within three hours of the crime at Oyan market area. Giving full credit for prompt action to the police, SP East Siang Dr. SK Singhal informed that the prompt action of the police led to nabbing of the accused.
Sharing details, the SP informed that on March 12, a written complaint was received regarding rape and impregnating a minor girl of Oyan market, under Ruksin subdivision by one Flipkart delivery boy namely Sunny Jerang. On receipt of the complaint, a case was registered by the Pasighat Women Police Station immediately vide Case No. 10/2024 Under Section 376 (2) (n) (3) IPC R/W sec 6 of POCSO.  Reportedly police immediately swung into action  and nabbed the alleged accused within three hours of registration of the case on the same day. 
Further investigation is in progress which is being carried out by the Sille-Oyan police under the close supervision of SP Singhal. Swift action by the police in arresting the accused was appreciated by civil society, the SP added.
