ITANAGAR, Feb 25: A one-day national awareness program on “Build the Enterprise of Your Dreams” was organized at NERIST by Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME).
The objectives of the program were to promote and support the untapped creativity of individuals, in addition to promote the adoption of the latest technologies in manufacturing as well as knowledge-based innovative MSMEs.  A total of 120 students participated in the program.
During the inaugural speech as a Chief Guest, Prof. HS Yadav, Director NERIST highlighted the role of building entrepreneurs for the development of society and nation. He stressed that students, particularly with engineering and management background, should not only be the job seeker but they should be a job creator in order to reduce unemployment among the youths.
He informed that a tour program shall be arranged for the students of NERIST to industries developed through MSMEs in the northeastern region to enhance confidence among the students.
S.L.N. Kumar, Assistant Director, MSME Branch of Itanagar highlighted about the financial assistance, soft loans and grants available under the scheme for setting up of Startups. He urged the students to come up with innovative ideas to start an enterprise.
Abhishek Singh, Assistant Director, MSME Branch of Itanagar highlighted important central sector schemes for MSMEs. During the program, a video message of the Minister, MSMEs and various opportunities in different schemes were presented. The feedback of the students was taken and discussion on various schemes under MSMEs was undertaken. Prof. K.N. Dewangan, Dean (Administration) coordinated the program.
