Mein inaugurates key infra projects under PMGSY-III
Ziro, Apr 22: Minister Agriculture, Horticulture etc Er. Tage Taki and Minister Education and Indigenous & Cultural Affairs Er. Taba Tedir on Wednesday took stock of status of the welfare programmes rolled out by the government for those whose livelihoods have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
During meeting, the Ministers also sought updates on the number of people from Lower Subansiri district currently stranded outside. DFCSO Nabum Tagum informed that under PMGKAY PHH 768.35 quintals of rice had been provided to 15367 beneficiaries and 250.95 quintals to 5019 under AAY and as a one-time assistance to BPL families Rs 1000 each had been transferred to 6826 families amounting to Rs 68, 26, 000. Also, 940 beneficiaries had been provided with free gas refill under PMUY.
Out of the 1677 identified daily wage earners in Ziro-I, 1159 have been provided ration and other relief material so far and another 1251 labourers have been identified from Ziro-II to be provided with relief, DLEO Nyilang Pugang informed. Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana, 2000 farmers have been provided with assistance out of the targeted 5070 and under ICDS department, a one-time assistance of Rs.500 has been provided to 239 senior citizens, 317 widows and 57 disabled people. “We are in the continuous process of transferring the amounts to the beneficiaries after validating their account numbers,” Deputy Director, ICDS C Thangjang informed.
While reviewing the district preparedness against the pandemic, the ministers unanimously opined for fortifying the Potin checkgate. “This gate can be converted into a zonal gate for Kra Daddi, Kurung Kurmey, Kamle, Lower Subansiri and Upper Subansiri districts and preventing any leakages through this gate can go a long way in averting Covid-19 entry into these districts,” Taki added. Lauding the police personnel, medical staff and administration for manning the Potin checkgate efficiently, Education Minister appealed for providing assistance and facilities to these frontline fighters.
DMO Dr. Tage Kanno informed that Gyati Takka General Hospital Ziro will be used as a full-fledged Covid management facility and regular OPDs will be held at the District TB Centre and immunization and family welfare programmes will be held at CHC, Old Ziro.
Deputy Commissioner Chukhu Takar, SP Harsh Indora, all administrative & nodal officers and Covid-19 supervisors attended the meeting. DIPRO
