ITANAGAR, Apr 12:

Minister Animal Husbandry etc, Dr. Mohesh Chai has expressed concern over the ‘Arun Dairy’ being shut for the last 7 months and dissatisfied with the explanations provided, Chai instructed the Director to immediately form a committee to study the terms and conditions on which the dairy plant is functioning.

 

The minister was on a visit to all the veterinary establishments within the capital complex on Wednesday accompanied by Dr. Padung, Director AH & Vet and other officials.

 

Dr. Chai addressing the issue of the rampant illegal encroachment of the department's land by private individuals assured to take up the issue with the concerned officials. Saddened to see the conditions of the existing infrastructure of the state veterinary hospital and other dispensaries, he urged the officials to create new infrastructure in every district starting with the capital and district headquarters.

The officials while interacting with the Minister pointed about the lack of manpower including vet officers, specialist vet doctors in the state vet hospital and the lack of job opportunities.

The Minister was also briefed about the rampant contract work being carried out by individuals in the department farms without obtaining any work order from the officials.
