DIRANG, Sep 16: Giving a clarion call for conservation of nature and natural resources Minister IPR, RWD, Printing & Parliamentary Affairs, Bamang Felix advocated for far-sighted planning in order to live harmoniously with Mother Nature.

‘Development and expansion should not be at the expense of nature’s fury. Education and awareness is the only way out.’ The minister said this while attending the Ist General Body Conference of the Dirang Employees Welfare Society (DEWS) today at Leung Gompa Dirang in West Kameng.

Lauding the role of the DEWS, Felix said that the society has done a remarkable job in bridging the gap between the older and the younger generations by acknowledging their role and achievement and felicitating them thereby encouraging others in pursuit of success in one’s chosen field.

Felix observed that DEWS besides working for the welfare of the Dirang employees, have been instrumental in many other pioneering works for the Dirang Monpa community. He conceded that it’s time for the learned and the employed to give back something to society.

Expressing his optimism, Felix hoped that there would be a better co-ordination between the Legislators and the government employees to materialize the policy and programmes of the government and to deliver it to the last man standing in the queue.

Acknowledging the request of the President DEWS Dorjee Phuntso, DDTH, for maintenance of the PMGSY roads in the area which are in a dilapidated condition, Felix assured that as and when the proposal for grant of maintenance fund is approved, necessary maintenance works of all the PMGSY roads in the state would be taken up starting from Dirang.

He assured to extend all possible help to the society in carrying out the noble works for the people of the area.

Earlier, advisor to CM cum MLA Japu Deru called upon the CBOs and other societal organizations to forgo personal gains and glory and dedicatedly work for the welfare of  society without any discrimination or biasness.

Lauding the endeavors of the DEWS, Dirang local Legislator Phurpa Tsering committed to stand by the yeomen services initiated by the society and congratulated DIG SSB Sonam Yudron and Everester Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa; both native of Dirang, for their achievements and being a role model for the younger generations especially the girls.
