Khonsa, May 15:  A coordination meeting of all Tirap MLAs & HoDs of Tirap district in relation to the Covid-19 pandemic was convened on Friday by Minister for PHE & WS, DoTCL etc Wangki Lowang here at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall.
MLAs of 57-Bogapani-Borduria AC Wanglin Lowangdong, 55-Khonsa East Wanglam Sawin and Khonsa West Chakat Aboh,  along with ADC Hq Kretkam Tikhak, ADC Deomali Penga Tato, SP Kardak Riba, all administrative officers, DMO, DDMO, DFCSO, DTO and Nodal Officers of the district’s quarantines facilities attended the meeting. Tirap Deputy Commissioner Bhanu Prabha urged the DMO and Nodal Officers to take stock of the preparedness level in containing the pandemic in the district. DMO Dr. Koblem Mossang shared the problem being faced by the frontline health workers as the stranded persons are arriving at middle of the night. She stated that the reason of this late arrival at the quarantine centres may be due to the long journey via Namdang check gate in Changlang district instead of the KBJ route via Joypur-Khonsa road and requested the house to identify the Hukanjuri check gate as the arrival point in Tirap instead of the Namdang check gate. In the meeting, selection of site for establishment of the Zonal Hospital in Tirap was also discussed where most of the members opined that Charju, the initially chosen Tirap Degree College site which falls under the jurisdiction of Bunting village would be most suitable.

After a threadbare discussion, DC informed that she would initiate the matter regarding identifying the check gate for the returnees with the authority and would convene a meeting with the land owners of Bunting and nearby villages for selecting the final site of the Zonal Hospital. DIPRO
