Itanagar, Nov 25: Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar today reviewed the preparedness of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 which is to be rolled out from December 2 next in the state, in a meeting of the State Steering Committee for Immunization (SSCI) here at his Office Chamber in Civil Secretariat.
Although IMI 2.0 aims to achieve the target of 90 % immunization coverage of children between 0-2 years of age and pregnant women, Chief Secretary asked the Health & Family Welfare Department to devise the entire Immunization mechanism of the state so as to achieve a further ambitious target of 97 % immunization. He called upon all other departments to work in a coordinated manner with the Health & Family Welfare Department and lend their support in areas where their assistance(s) are required to attain the objective of reaching out to the unreached. To address local issues which remain a challenge in many parts of the state, Chief Secretary stressed on the use of robust communication strategies like FM Radio Channels and community radios & mobile SMS to carry out the message of IMI 2.0 to the masses with emphasis on local dialects to generate more public awareness.
CS further advised to initiate a reward in the form of cash or kind which may be awarded to the best performing ANM with 100 per cent IMI 2.0 coverage. Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare Dr. A.C.Verma, Secretary WCD Niharika Rai, Secretary IPR Himanshu Gupta and others were present in the meeting.
IMI 2.0 will continue till March 2, 2020 in four rounds in 18 identified districts in Arunachal Pradesh. PRO CS
