ITANAGAR, Jun 12: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today inaugurated State Bank of India’s Arunachal Pradesh Civil Secretariat branch which will operate in the 1st Floor of 4th Block of the building.
Congratulating SBI for opening it’s 60th branch in the state, Mein said that the branch would cater to the banking needs of around 1500 government employees serving in Civil Secretariat and save precious time. Lauding SBI for providing the much needed banking service in every nook and corner of the state for many decades, he requested the Chief General Manager of SBI for North Eastern States to further expand its branches in rural and remote areas of the state and set up ATMs and Customer Service Points. Assuring all support on behalf of the government, he also asked them to provide financial assistance to the state’s educated youth for taking up enterprising businesses especially in Credit linked Schemes like Swalambhan, Deen Dhayal Upadhyay Yojana, etc. and improve C:D ratio. Mein also made the first transaction in the branch by withdrawing cash from his account.
Chief General Manager of SBI North East, Sunil Kumar Tandon thanked the government of Arunachal Pradesh for extending support and providing space for establishment of the branch in the hub of capital. Among others, former APPSC Chairman Nabam Atum, Commissioners, Secretaries and officials of SBI and State Civil Secretariat attended the programme. DCM Media Cell
