ITANAGAR, May 15: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein through a media briefing on Friday while detailing the implications of Central government’s Rs 20 lakh crore economic relief package measures in the context of Arunachal Pradesh assured that State government will implement them in toto.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of the state, Mein said that under his decisive and inspirational leadership, the country is fighting the pandemic in a much synchronized manner as compared to many other countries across the globe and termed the huge economic relief plan as one of the biggest of its kind in the world after USA and Japan.
While reiterating that due to the series of measures taken by the state government as of now, the pandemic has been successfully contained in Arunachal, DCM thanked all the frontline warriors including doctors, nurses, other health workers, police, District Administrations and the state’s media for their collective efforts in the fightback. He appealed all to work together keeping alive the team spirit and stressed on maintaining the social distancing norm and other relevant guidelines. Detailing the state’s medical response to the pandemic, Mein said that apart from the two dedicated Covid-19 hospitals namely the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences for Western Arunachal and the North Eastern Institute of Folk Medicines (NEIFM) & Arunachal AYUSH Hospital at Pasighat for Eastern Arunachal, Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in 6 Zonal Hospitals in Tawang, Ziro, Aalo, Pasighat, Tezu and Tirap are being set up and 679 Isolation Facilities and 3303 Quarantine Facilities have also been established. 
Speaking on Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s first press conference which focused mainly on mitigating the hardships faced by the MSMEs, Mein said it will also benefit the state’s people and in the State’s Finance, Planning & Investment Department, a high level committee has been constituted to look into the issues faced by the small business/traders/entrepreneurs of the state which will coordinate with the Central government. 
It can be recalled that Union Finance Minister in her second press conference announced a series of relief measures for migrants, street vendors, farmers etc such as free food grain supply for migrants, One Nation One Ration Card, affordable rental accommodation for migrant workers and urban poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), interest subvention incentive for Shishu loans under MUDRA, credit facility for street vendors, Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme for people belonging to the lowest rung of the middle class, utilisation of Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) for the tribals, refinance from NABARD to marginal farmers, concessional credit to the farmers through Kisan Credit Cards etc.
Mein assured that state government will implement them without charging anything from the intended beneficiaries. DCM Media Cell
