DOIMUKH, Oct 31: Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein today while speaking at the inaugural function of the 7th Annual College Week here at Government College urged the students to develop a sense of competitiveness and get equipped enough to compete in any part of the world.
Citing that there is limited scope for everyone to be accommodated in white collar government jobs, he said that it is high time that students must educate and skill themselves to face any competition. Stating that state government has brought in several administrative and financial reforms, DCM added that it has also made the recruitment system fully transparent by creating the Staff Selection Board.  He also called upon the student community to preserve and promote the socio-cultural fabric of Arunachal. While reminding that the biggest challenge facing the state’s younger generation is drug addiction, he urged the students to distance themselves from such menace. Addressing the faculty members, Mein said that with the privilege of getting government jobs by indigenous tribal people as per 80:20 reservation ratio, responsibilities have also increased. He further said that Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan is a great initiative by Home Minister and appealed everyone to be a part of it to make the state a safer place to live. He also  promised to look into the 3-point memorandum submitted by General Secretary, Nabam Radhe on behalf of students. Mein also visited the college campus to take stock of the infrastructural development. 

State BJP Vice President, Dominic Tadar while attending the programme as the Guest of Honour also appealed the students to maintain good atmosphere in the campus. Land donor, Tana Bado, Principal, Dr M Q Khan and Union Advisor, Tai Tugung also spoke on the occasion. Among others, MLA Doimukh  Tana Hali Tara, SP Yupia, Jimmy Chiram, officers and faculty members were also present. DCM Media Cell
