MOTUM, Feb 18: Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein inaugurated a playground at Motum in Mebo Sub-Division, East Siang District today which has been constructed under State Infrastructure Development Fund. He also launched the Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yojna here.
Speaking on the occasion, Mein said that Pema Khandu led government had initiated various welfare measures for the people of the state and Chief Minister Adarsh Gram Yojna is one such programme. Under CMAGY, an adarsh village will be adopted and developed as a model village in each constituency for which fund had been released, he said. He lauded the initiative of the local MLA saying that it is among the few constituencies that has implemented the Yojna successfully and also assured to release the remaining fund.
He further said that the Mebo constituency had seen coming up of many quality infrastructures like tiled floored community hall (Musup) at Motum, a large school auditorium at Borguli in just Rs 50 lakhs and a sound-proof community hall at Mebo in the last few years. He urged the people to continue keeping up their development oriented mindset and do away with the habits of proposing schemes of individualistic nature.
Emphasizing on the road and air connectivity as one of the priority area of the government, the DCM further said that the district headquarters would also be interconnected by air service, once the Greenfield Airport at Hollongi, Itanagar comes up.  
Responding to the memorandum submitted by Mebo MLA and the public, he assured to provide fund for Mebo to Patan Korong via Sigar Millitary station, flood protection work at Siku river and for public gallery in the newly inaugurated general ground at Motum. He also assured to look into their other demands under untied fund.
Mebo MLA, Lombo Tayeng informed that 39 beneficiaries had been distributed 70 CGI sheets each and to ensure construction of the housing structure, an amount of Rs 35400 would directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary through DBT. 50% fund will be transferred after the real structure comes up in order to ensure utilization of the CGI sheets by the actual beneficiaries, he mentioned. He also requested the state government to release the remaining balance amount under CMAGY at the earliest and sought fund for flood protection work at Siku river, diversion of which is posing a great threat to the bridge over it.
