Namsai, Aug 31: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Saturday chaired a meeting of the District Planning Board (DPB) here at the DC's office chamber.
MLA Namsai Chow Zingnu Namchoom and Deputy Commissioner Bijoy Talukdar were present along with the heads of seven works departments. Mein while stressing that all works departments should incorporate their schemes under the budget, also emphasised on prioritizing development of road connectivity and advised that staff quarters must be included when schemes for infrastructures like hospitals and offices were taken up. He also underscored the need to take special care like water supply and drainage for the new staff colony being developed at Namsai.
It was reminded by the DCM    that revalidation should be processed for all on-going projects under SADA and SIDF and those approved under RE. Regarding the construction of crematorium which was included in the budget speech, he said that local tradition and culture must be taken into consideration while finalising the layout and provisions.       
All out approach must be taken to ensure that Namsai district has the best power scenario being a new district, DCM added. He was also apprised of the urgent need for water supply augmentation in the district headquarter. While reviewing the various on-going schemes and projects as well as new proposals which are being funded for being an aspirational district, he also discussed the works to be taken up under MLALAD Fund.
