ITANAGAR, February 17: With the aim of making the forthcoming Annual State Budget 2020-21 preparation a participatory one, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today held the
first Pre-Budget Consultative Meeting with various stakeholders here at the State Civil Secretariat.
The meeting was attended by the executive members of Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society, Arunachal Pradesh Chamber of Commerce & Industries and Community Based Organizations (CBOs). Chairing over the meeting, Mein while stating that state government encourages involvement of all stakeholders in development process, welcomed suggestions and valuable inputs from the members present to be considered for incorporation in the State Budget. Lauding the inputs and suggestions put forward by the representatives of APSCW, APPWWS, APCC&I and CBOs of Mishmi and Bugun communities, he said these will be widely consulted with concerned departments/agencies and would be incorporated in ensuing State Budget 2020-21, if found feasible. He also added that similar pre-budget consultative meetings will be held with other CBOs of the state.

All members present actively participated in the meeting and submitted their suggestions. Praising the Jan Bhagidari Scheme which has paved the way for common citizens to be a part of the budget making process, they expressed thankfulness for being invited to share pre-budget suggestions. They also expressed their gratitude to the Finance Minister for incorporating many of their earlier suggestions in the State Budget, terming it as historic in Arunachal Pradesh. Among others, Secretary Finance Y W Ringu and Secretary Planning & Investment Himanshu Gupta were also present.
It is relevant to mention that state government has invited suggestions from people belonging to all chores of lives in the budget making exercise, for which one can visit the website www.arunachalbudget.in and submit suggestions. DCM Media Cell
