NAMSAI, May 9: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Saturday conducted an urgent meeting here to discuss the roles to be played by the newly constituted Check Gate Quarantine Facilities Management Committees.
MLAs and District Administrations of Namsai, Changlang, Lohit and Anjaw districts attended the meeting and discussed the Standard Operating Procedures on Covid-19 and reviewed the overall situation and preparations of Dirak check gate.
Mein said that state government is working hard to ensure that people are safe and intensifying efforts to bring back all the state’s stranded people from other states and also sending the migrants workers and those stranded in Arunachal back to their home states. The DCM informed that under the directive of the Chief Minister, twelve Check Gate Quarantine Facilities Management Committees have been formed, each headed by a cabinet minister with MLAs as members.
Since Dirak is the entry point to Namsai, Lohit, Anjaw and Changlang districts, he has been given the responsibility to head the committee for the Dirak check gate quarantine facility, Mein informed, adding that all the MLAs from these districts being members of the committees will monitor the overall working of the designated entry points and quarantine facilities. He informed that returnees will be thoroughly checked and monitored properly at quarantine centres and those released from quarantine centres will be asked to continue with further home quarantine which is now considered essential to prevent the Covid-19 spread.
Mein reminded that everyone needs to work collectively to deal with the situation and have to follow the mantra of 3-S- Stay at Home, Social Distancing & Sanitation and also stressed on coordination, cooperation and proper planning to overcome the pandemic.
Minister Food & Civil Supply Kamlung Mossang, MLAs of Lohit Karikho Kri, Anjaw Dasanglu Pul, Namsai Chau Zingnu Namchoom, Lekang Jummum Ete Deori and Bordumsa Samlung Mossang spoke on the occasion.
