ITANAGAR, Nov 17: Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein today called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) here at Raj Bhavan  to discuss matters concerning the on-going developmental programmes and projects, law and order  and civil supplies position in the state, including  issues concerning Vijoynagar.
State Minister for Civil Supplies Kamlung Mossang was also present in the meeting. Governor while emphasising on proper monitoring and implementation of projects within time frames, also suggested for regular review meetings to ensure their speedy progress, particularly the road projects. He stressed  on timely allocation of necessary fund for developmental works  to avoid  last-minute rush along with the need for a strong mechanism to prevent improper utilization of allocated public money. It needs mentioning that Governor had also communicated to the State Public Accounts Committee Chairman  & MLA Ninong Ering for the same.
Governor also discussed about recent incidences of law and order in the eastern part of the state and  advised the Deputy Chief Minister to further strengthen the age-old amity and goodwill amongst people from different communities of  the state. He advised State Civil Supplies Minister to streamline the Public Distribution System, so that every citizen, particularly those in remote areas like Taksing, Monigong, Chaglagam and Vijoynagar gets regular supplies of essential commodities.
Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister, who has recently returned from his district tour, briefed the Governor about various projects which have been successfully implemented and also different stages of some vital on-going state and centrally sponsored projects.PRO Raj Bhavan
