TEZU, Mar 22:A mega legal service camp was organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at Jubilee Ground, Tezu to aware the general public about their legal rights and duties including schemes initiated by government for their welfare.

The stalls set up by legal authority including various Government Departments drew more than 2,000 people including those from remote areas at Tezu Town. The programme was inaugurated by Minister AH, &VS, DD, Art & Culture, Dr. Mohesh Chai in presence of DC Karma Leki, SP K Padu, HoDs, PRI members, public leaders, GBs NGOs etc.

In his address, Chai appreciated the DLSA for giving an opportunity to the public of Lohit District to avail free services and exhorted the gathering to take full advantage of the program.

Talking on key features of the recently held Budget session, Chai highlighted the benefits and details of various state sponsored welfare schemes such as Kanya Yojana, CM's Social Security Scheme-enhancement of Old Age Pension (80 yrs), Widow Pension and disability pension etc.

Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Tezu, informed about the aims and objectives as well as significance of the legal services camp.

Meanwhile more than one thousand people availed subsidized LED bulbs etc from APEDA under the Ujjwala Yojana on the spot. The Department of Environment & Forest also distributed 1000 plant saplings to the public. District AIDS Prevention Control Unit of Zonal Hospital Tezu provided free and voluntary HIV tests.
