Yupia, Oct 24: District Child Protection Unit, Papum Pare district today organised a Consultation Meeting on Child Care and Protection here at the DC Conference Hall.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Member, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), Yupia Rosy Taba in presence of Deputy Commissioner Pige Ligu, SP Jimmy Chiram, DMO, DD ICDS, DDSE, DLO, administrative officers, NGOs and officials of WCDs of the district. During deliberations, various aspects of Child Care and Protection were discussed with suggestions that sector-wise medical camps are to be organised with specialists to identify physically challenged children and serious implementation of Child Labour (Protection and Regulation) Amendment Act.
Conducting of target-oriented awareness camps, immediate formation of District Task Force, identification of active NGOs and provision of free medical treatment of children residing in CCIs were the other points that were discussed. DIPRO
