Khonsa, Sep 17: A coordination meeting in connection with the review of various activities to be organized under ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign was held today here at the Kamlesh Joshi Conference Hall under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman (DUDA)-in-Charge Hakresha Kri, EAC wherein all HoDs of Tirap district were present.
While administering the pledge on Plastic Free India campaign, Kri highlighted the importance of the review meeting and informed that Swachchata Hi Sewa Abhiyan shall continue till October 27 in three phases. He also informed that on October 2, Maha-Shramdan would be conducted at Circle Levels for collection of Single Use Plastic (SUP) waste and from October 3 to 27, all collected waste would be brought to a single point for segregation to be done by volunteers or daily wagers.
Assistant Engineer (DUDA) Er. Lienwang Hosai briefed the motive of ‘Swachchata Hi Sewa’ and informed that essay writing and painting competitions will be conducted in schools in three categories i.e. Classes 3 to 5 and Classes 6 to 8 and Classes 9 to 12 based on the theme “Swachhata Hi Sewa”, for which prizes of Rs. 500 at Circle Level, Rs. 5000 at District Level and Rs. 10,000 at State Level will be awarded.
