ITANAGAR, Dec 7: First meeting of Sub-committee for Self Help Group Bank Linkages under State Level Banker Committee was convened here today at Dorjee Khandu Convention Center
The meeting was attended by Dr. Gyanendra Mani,General Manager NABARD, Tilak Das,NRP,Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Tenzing Choesang, DDU-GKY,MoRD, and other officials.
Durig the meeting, the house deliberated on status, progress and constraints for SHG bank linkage, roll out implementation strategy of financial literacy programme. Members also stressed on the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) in the state and providing solutions for last mile banking service in the unbanked areas through SHG as BC agents.
Addressing the meeting, Dr. Gyanendra Mani, General Manager NABARD categorically opined that SHGs can be leverage for credit linkage and it can be a platform for convergence of various development programmes at the grassroots level.
Earlier, Tilak Das also emphasized on the promotion of bank sakhi at branch level under DAY-NRLM for ensuring repayment of advances through robust Community Based Recovery Mechanism(CBRM).
Among others, Arup Aich,LBM,R.O SBI, Babul Sharma,State Director for RSETI, Jakir Hussain,CSC-e-Governance,Guwhati, Hillang Tasap, SMM (FI), ArSRLM and representatives from various banks participated in the programme.
