PASIGHAT, Feb 13: Over the preparedness for Corona Virus outbreak in neighboring country China, a coordination cum sensitization meeting on Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic was organized today in the DC’s conference hall by the District Health Society. The meeting was attended by all stakeholders including HoDs, ABK (WW), principal of all the colleges, Pasighat Bazaar committees and NGOs etc.
“There is nothing to panic. By maintaining personal hygiene and observing certain precautions we can be safe”, stated Chairman Borang in his brief address.
DMO Dr. Kaling Dai in his Keynote address highlighted the current Global situation with reference to India and East Siang District.
District Surveillance Officer, IDSP, Dr. Tarik Talom made a Power Point Presentation on COVID-19, based on causes, signs and symptoms, mode of infection, treatment, foods safety measures, ethics on cleanliness and hygiene, preventive measures, need of Infection Prevention Control, Personal Protective Equipment, Rapid Response Team and on Myths and Facts about COVID-19. Dr. Talom also highlighted on requirement of strategic preparedness and response plans and measures for East Siang District.
Sr. Microbiologist, District Priority Health Lab, BPGH Pasighat, Dr. Basumoti Apum gave an additional inputs on various aspects of COVID-19 and clarified all queries of the house presence on the COVID-19. DIPRO
