YUPIA, Feb 22: Deputy Commissioner Papumpare Tai Kaye today conducted a coordination meeting with superintendents of Tax and Excise and all field functionaries. Points discussed were streamlining of spurious and non-genuine liquor sold in retail outlets under name and style of IMFL brands, selling of liquor to persons less than 21years of age, adherence of liquor selling timings by liquor shops, rampant proliferation of retail liquor shops and bars.

  Decisions taken to initiate action includes the Superintendent of Tax and Excise shall constitute a verification squad to check the purity and genuineness of the stock being sold at retail shops and report be submitted to DC, all the Superintendent T&E were instructed to put up or forward the files to DC after thorough verification. Only genuine cases to be put up to DC for getting approval and in case of non-fulfillment of criteria the Superintendent were instructed to reject the same at initial stage itself. 
 Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Tai Kaye also issued strict instruction today in an official order that all wine shops functioning in Papum Pare (Rural) are directed to put a sign board in front of their retail outlet that “ no liquor will be sold to persons less than 21 years of age and to strictly adhere to 9am to 8am functioning timings.
