Book on Traditional Festivals of Arunachal Pradesh released
TAWANG, Dec 3: A meeting was held today here on Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rurban Mission/ National Rurban Mission (NRUM) Phase III Dudungkhar Tribal Cluster, under Tawang district. The meeting was chaired by DC cum CEO DRDA Tawang, Sang Phuntsok which was attended by Nyali Ete, Special Secretary, Department of Rural Development &Panchyati Raj among others.
Ete, in his speech said the mission’s name is combination of two words rural and urban and the idea behind is to preserve and nurture the rural life with modern infrastructures and facilities of cities. The mission’s aim is to identify a cluster of villages and give it the facilities of a city i.e “gaon ki aatma aur sheher ki suvidha”. This mission targets bridging the rural and urban division, it will reduce poverty and unemployment, this will usher in an era of development, and will attract investment in rural areas, he added.
The four pilot projects in Arunachal Pradesh are Tuting, Nafra, Seppa and Dudungkhar in Tawang, the first phase of project was taken up in Tuting with a cluster of 13 villages.
The main objective behind the meeting at DC conference hall Tawang was to sensitise the HoDs to take active part in this mission. And during the interactive session all the executing Departments shared their opinion and schemes being implemented in Dudungkhar area.
Special Secretary with his team will be visiting Dudungkhar area on Tuesday.
