PASIGHAT, Jul 12: The first meeting of the District Tuberculosis Forum of East Siang was held today here at DC’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Hq) Tatdo Borang.
ADC while stressing that DTO (TB) should continue the movement to mobilize all stakeholders to eliminate TB and make East Siang a TB-free district, emphasized on proper patient-centric plan of action so that every TB patient can access quality diagnosis, treatment and support. DMO Dr. Kaling Dai said that timely diagnosis, counselling, proper treatment and support could ensure complete cure of the disease. MS (BPGH) Dr. YR. Darang asserted that TB is absolutely curable and shared tips for healthy living. DTO(TB) Dr. Siram through ppt presented the key aspects of RNTCP with focus on TB situation in East Siang and strategies for eliminating TB from the district. He also informed that Government of India has announced the new aim of eliminating TB by 2025 from the country.
