TEZU, Dec 21: A meeting was held here today at Parsuram Kund IB, to review all the preparatory activities related to the organising of Parshuram Kund Mela 2019. The mela is held every year on January 14 on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Karma Leki, and attended by   MLA, Chowkham, C T Mein, who is also Chairman, Parshuram Dham Seva Ashram, Superintendent of Police Dr DW Thongon and all the administrative officers and HoDs of Lohit district and members of Parsuram Gram Seva Samiti.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC sought the cooperation and coordination from all the stakeholders in order to successfully conduct the annual mela. Important issues like traffic control, maintenance of law and order, overall management of the function, to check the inflow of beggars, prohibition of sale of liquor and non-vegetarian items, regulating flow of picnickers were points discussed elaborately in the meeting.
The MLA requested all the members to dedicate their time and work force to make the ensuing mela a grand success. He also mentioned that the district administration had judiciously and efficiently conducted the mela in the past.
The SP  too reassured the committee to look after all the aspects of law and order situation during mela and to conduct it in a peaceful and orderly manner.
