YUPIA, Dec 4: The Global Iodine Deficiency Diseases Prevention Day 2018 was observed at the ZPC Hall Yupia today. Ili Angu, epidemiologist (IDSP), gave a presentation on the importance of iodine and the impact of its deficiency. It was followed by an informative interaction among the participants and salt testing using MBI kits.
The ADC Yupia who attended the programme as chief guest appreciated and advised the DPO (NIDDCP) Dr. RR Ronya to carry out such informative programmes all over the district for more awareness among the population. The programme was also attended by the heads of departments with their staff. The DMO also spoke on the occasion.
The MBI kits were distributed to all who attended the programme.
