PASIGHAT, Feb 22: A media team from the national capital, comprising of print, electronic and online portal based and UNICEF Northeast are on a visit to East Siang for documenting the success of the ongoing Measles Rubella Vaccination campaign in the district which will be later shared nationwide as an example of successful implementation of Public Health Programmes.
Interacting with the visiting media persons on Thursday, District Medical Officer, (DMO), Dr. M Perme, credited the positive and successful MRV month long campaign, which is now, implementing the last Sweeping Activity round. He also credited the success to adherence to timeline, strict implementation as per micro plan, sustained awareness campaigns at Block Levels, dedicated team of health workers, excellent inter sectoral coordination and support from stakeholders. He also highlighted the target, achievement and coverage in the ongoing MRV campaign.
To give a first-hand experience of the campaign in remote rural areas, a team of health workers and officials led by DRCHO, Dr T Gao, took the team to remote Pongging Village in Upper Siang today.
There the visiting team interacted with locals and PRIs, on the MRV campaign. Later in the evening they visited the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pasighat, to witness a vaccination session under Sweeping Activity.
They team will be visiting Papumpare district shortly.
