ITANAGAR, Jun 3: Surface communication between Shi-Yomi district and West Siang reportedly snapped last night after washing away of a RCC bridge near Yapik village on the Aalo-Mechuka road.
According to sources, the rain triggered flash flood completely washed away the bridge disrupting surface communication to the district.
It is said that the transportation of people and essential commodities to the remote district would be badly affected as it will take days to restore the bridge. The commuters, who were travelling from Mechukha to Aalo or vice-versa, were forced to turn back.
Meanwhile, the State Legislative Assembly Speaker through his Social Media handle appealed to the commuters not to travel without collecting information from the district authorities.
